Haryana Current Affairs April 2016:  

• Haryana Cabinet in March 2016 approved the Reservation Bill for Jat and 4 other caste. BJP led government assured that the bill would be tabled in the ongoing Budget session of the state Assembly which is scheduled to continue till 31 March 2016. The Bill proposes reservation for Jats and four other castes Jat Sikhs, Rors, Bishnois and Tyagis by creating a new classification in the Backward Classes category. 
• Haryana Legislative Assembly has unanimously passed two bills to make minimum educational qualification criteria mandatory for the urban local bodies election (ULBs). These bills are (i) The Haryana Municipal (Amendment) Bill, 2016 (ii) Haryana Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
• Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Radha Mohan Singh, on 6 April 2016 laid the foundation stone of Haryana State University of Horticultural Sciences at Karnal, Haryana. The establishment of a fully fledged horticultural university will cater the needs to support the gap between teaching, research and extension activities in the state.
• Haryana government has decided to rename Gurgaon, the corporate hub of Haryana on the outskirts of Delhi, as 'Gurugram'. Gurgaon, on the outskirts of Delhi, is known as the cyber city which houses offices of renowned IT firms.
• हरियाणा के नव नियुक्त पुलिस महानिदेशक श्री के.पी.सिंह ने कहा कि हरियाणा पुलिस को कानून के प्रति और अधिक जवाबदेह बनाया जाएगा तथा पुलिस कर्मियों के मनोबल को और ऊंचा किया जाएगा।
• हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल ने फिल्म पगड़ी-दी-ओनर को मनोरंजन टैक्स से छूट प्रदान करने के प्रस्ताव को स्वीकृति प्रदान की है। यह फिल्म हिसार शहर के आसपास के गांवों में फिल्माई गई है, जिसके माध्यम से फिल्म में हरियाणावी भाषा व बोली का प्रयोग राज्य की समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक परंपराओं को उजागर किया गया है।
• Gohana‬, ‪Hansi‬ and ‪Charkhi Dadri‬ will be 3 New districts in Haryana. The cabinet has also recommended creation of 7 new sub-divisions, 5 tehsils, 1 sub-tehsil, 6 blocks and change the name of two blocks.
