Earthquake Mock Exercise in Haryana on December 21, 2017

In the run-up to the State-level mock exercise on earthquake preparedness to be held in Haryana on December 21, 2017, a coordination conference was held at the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) in Chandigarh. A detailed briefing about the mock exercise was carried out by Maj. Gen. (Retd.) V. K. Datta, Sr. Consultant, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). Lt. Gen. (Retd.) N. C. Marwah, Member, NDMA, also participated in the meeting. Discussions were held to ensure that necessary arrangements for conducting the mock exercise are put in place.

The coordination conference was attended by the State’s Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Heads of Civil Defence & Home Guards, Fire, other line departments and ADCs from all districts of Haryana. District Collectors were available on videoconferencing. Officers from central agencies such as Army, Air Force, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were present. Captain Abhimanyu, Minister, Revenue & Disaster Management, Haryana chaired the special session followed by media briefing.

This exercise is being conducted by the Haryana State Disaster Management Authority in collaboration with the NDMA. It will help participating agencies and stakeholders in evaluating the effectiveness of their disaster response plans. NDMA has so far conducted more than 600 mock exercises in different States and Union Territories for various disaster situations in its efforts to improve preparedness and response mechanisms for various disaster situations. All nodal officers from stakeholder agencies participated in the meeting. All District Collectors and their teams participated in the meeting through videoconferencing.

The 2-day Korea Tourism festival 2017 was held in Gurugram, Haryana on November 25 to showcase famous South Korean tourist destinations, delicacies, art, culture and the country’s heritage. The festival displayed food counters (managed by Korea Agro Fisheries and Food Trade Cooperation) to give a taste of the local Korean flavours to serve Indian taste buds besides featuring experiential attractions like face mask painting, Hangeul calligraphy and video gallery exhibiting Korean history & cultural assets. 

The fest was inaugurated by Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) Executive Vice President Min Hong Min along with Suman Billa, the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism.

International Gita Mahotsav 2017, Kurukshetra

International Gita Mahotsav 2017 will be inaugurated by President of India Ram Nath Kovind in Kurukshetra, Haryana on November 25, 2017. The President will also participate in Gita Yajna and Gita Poojan ceremonies at Brahma Sarovar. He will also lay the foundation stone of the Gita Research Centre at Gita Gyan Sansthanam. 

The mahotsav, which will conclude on December 3, will have Mauritius as partner country and Uttar Pradesh as partner state. Approx 25-30 lakh people are likely to participate in this Mahotsav.

भारत की मानुषी छिल्लर ने मिस वर्ल्ड 2017 का ख़िताब जीता है। चीन में 18 नवंबर को मिस वर्ल्ड 2017 का ग्रैंड फिनाले आयोजित किया, इसमें 118 प्रतिभागी शामिल थे। 20 साल की मानुषी हरियाणा से हैं। इस प्रतियोगिता में दूसरे स्थान पर रही हैं मिस मेक्सिको और तीसरे नंबर पर रही हैं मिस इंग्लैंड। हरियाणा की मनुषि चिल्लर ने फेमिना मिस इंडिया 2017 एवं मिस फोटोजेनिक अवॉर्ड भी जीता था।

डॉक्टर पैरेंट्स के घर की बेटी मनुषी ने दिल्ली के सेंट थॉमस स्कूल और सोनीपत के भगत फूल सिंह गवर्नमेंट मेडिकल कॉलेज फॉर वूमेन से पढ़ाई की है। भारत से 17 वर्ष बाद किसी मिस वर्ल्ड का ख़िताब मिला है, इससे पहले ऐश्वर्या राय, प्रियंका चोपड़ा से लेकर डियाना हेडन तक अब तक छह भारतीय सुंदरियों को मिस वर्ल्ड का खिताब मिल चुका है।

Haryana signs pacts worth over Rs 2000 cr at World Food India 2017

Haryana government has signed initial pacts worth Rs. 2,069 crore with 44 agro-based and food processing enterprises and establishments that will provide employment to 5,012 persons. The MoUs were signed in the presence of State Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at the Haryana Session on the second day of the three-day World Food India organised in the national capital.

Assuring the investors of all possible assistance, the Chief Minister said the state government would soon implement the Agri-Business and Food Processing Policy, 2017. He said the state government was working at different levels to double the income of farmers by making agriculture profitable.

हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल ने 52वें हरियाणा दिवस को जल संरक्षण को समर्पित करते हुए 'हरियाणा राज्य तालाब प्राधिकरण' के गठन का ऐलान किया है। इस प्राधिकरण के तहत राज्य के करीब 14000 तालाबों के पानी को साफ करके सिंचाई के लिए इस्तेमाल में लाया जाएगा। 

इस अवसर पर मैग्सेसे अवॉर्ड विजेता राजेंद्र सिंह ने 30 साल बाद दक्षिण हरियाणा और मसानी बांध तक हरियाणा सरकार द्वारा नहरी पानी पहुंचाने पर सरकार की खुले दिल से प्रशंसा की।

हरयाणा में लगेंगे स्मार्ट मीटर, मोबाइल से रीडिंग लेना संभव

लार्सन एंड टुब्रो (L&T) 9 अक्टूबर 2017 को 50 लाख स्मार्ट मीटर की खरीदारी के लिए एनर्जी एफि‍सिएंसी सर्विसेज लिमिटेड (EESL) द्वारा जारी की गई निविदा में न्‍यूनतम बोलीदाता के रूप में उभर कर सामने आई है। ये मीटर उत्तर प्रदेश और हरियाणा में चरणबद्ध ढंग से 3 वर्षों की अवधि में लगाए जाएंगे। लार्सन एंड टुब्रो (एलएंडटी) ने प्रति सिंगल फेज स्मार्ट मीटर के लिए 2722 रुपये की न्यूनतम बोली लगाई है। 40 लाख स्मार्ट मीटर उत्तर प्रदेश में और शेष 10 लाख स्‍मार्ट मीटर हरियाणा में लगाए जाएंगे। स्मार्ट मीटर दरअसल समग्र एडवांस्‍ड मीटरिंग इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर सोल्यूशंस (एएमआई) का एक हिस्सा हैं। इसका लक्ष्‍य कुछ इस तरह से मांग का बेहतर प्रबंधन करना है, ताकि अधिकतम मांग (पीक ऑवर्स) के दौरान बिजली की खपत कम की जा सके। स्मार्ट मीटर में जीपीआरएस प्रौद्योगिकी का इस्तेमाल होता है जिससे डिस्‍कॉम और उपभोक्ताओं के बीच दोतरफा संचार संभव है। जब इस तरह का स्‍मार्ट मीटर लग जाता है तो ऊर्जा आपूर्तिकर्ता के लिए मोबाइल फोन नेटवर्क के जरिए मीटर रीडिंग लेना भी संभव हो जाता है।

Dera Sacha Sauda chief convicted in rape case

A CBI court in Panchkula on 25th August found Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh guilty in a rape case. He is facing up to seven years in jail. A former follower had accused Singh of repeatedly raping her inside the Dera campus near Sirsa in Haryana. The alleged incident took place in 1999. An FIR was registered in 2002. The Dera chief and the management of the sect have denied the allegations all throughout. Haryana and Punjab, especially, Chandigarh, are on high alert to deal with any situation on the law and order front. Several companies of the paramilitary forces have reached the twin States, with tight security arrangements being put in place. The army has taken him into protective custody and he will be transferred to a military base.

सक्षम हरियाणा अभियान (Saksham Hariyana Abhiyan 2017): हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने राज्य में शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता और रोजगार को बढ़ाने के लिए सक्षम हरियाणा नामक के अभियान शुरू करने का फैसला किया है। हरियाणा सरकार का यह अभियान एक जन अन्दोलन के रूप में चलाया जायेगा। इस अभियान हेतु राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर की अध्यक्षता में शिक्षा, कौशल विकास, और औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण विभागों के साथ आयोजित एक बैठक में फैसला लिया गया। सक्षम हरियाणा अभियान हेतु मुख्यमंत्री ने अपने कार्यालय में प्रतिभा विकास प्रकोष्ठ की स्थापना की।
